AJA Responds to Streaming and Online Broadcast Demands

KONA HDMI is capable of four simultaneous channels of HD capture.

Addressing the evolving workflows of video professionals at a Monday press event, AJA Video Systems CEO Nick Rashby introduced several products and updates engineered to improve live streaming, respond to online broadcast demands, support ever-expanding format options, and simplify high dynamic range (HDR) processing.

In addition to supporting SMPTE ST 2110 IP video mode, AJA also recognizes the advantages of 12G for post and production professionals, building support into new and existing products.

Designed for use in live streaming, event recording, production, broadcast and editorial, AJA’s KONA HDMI video capture solution is capable of four simultaneous channels of HD capture with streaming and switching applications Telestream Wirecast and vMix.

KONA HDMI offers capture of one channel of Ultra HD up to 60p over HDMI 2.0 using AJA Control Room (CR) software. A single-channel 3G-SDI 2K/HD 60p I/O PCIe card, KONA 1 offers serial control and reference/LTC, and features standard application plug-ins, as well as AJA SDK support.

The company’s newest version of its Desktop Software supports KONA HDMI and KONA 1 and adds support for SMPTE ST 2110 IP video mode in KONA IP, with support for AJA CR, Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.

AJA also introduced the IPR-10G-HDMI Mini-Converter, which is capable of converting SMPTE ST 2110 IP video/audio to HDMI, and added SMPTE ST 2110 support for the KONA IP via Desktop Software v14.2. Other new products include KUMO 3232-12G and KUMO 1616-12G routers; KUMO 3232-12G offers 32x 12G-SDI inputs and 32x 12G-SDI outputs, while the KUMO 1616-12G offers 16x 12G-SDI inputs/outputs.
