“We’ve already announced 23 new products this year,” said Nick Rashby, president and CEO of AJA Video Systems during the company’s press breakfast. “And we’re only getting started.”
Rashby said AJA had identified a missing segment in their customers’ workflow — “control” — and are filling the gap this year with the release of RovoControl, a free software from AJA for Mac, Windows or Linux.
RovoControl is a simple application for controlling one or multiple Rovo- Cams, AJA’s first compact block camera for industrial, corporate, security, pro AV and broadcast applications. RovoControl manages camera features including zoom, focus and iris. RovoRx-HDMI, the companion receiver, offers the simplest integration with RovoCam offering an HDMI output, stereo audio out, control and power.
Rashby also presented U-TAP, which provides USB 3.0-powered SDI and HDMI capture. The hardware is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems and a range of creative applications.
AJA announced the availability of firmware version 1.3 for CION, AJA’s 4K/Ultra HD and 2K/HD production camera that can shoot direct to edit-ready Apple Pro- Res 4444 at up to 4K 30 fps, ProRes 422 at up to 4K 60 fps, or can output 4K AJA raw files at up to 120 fps.
