DPA Microphones celebrated its 25th anniversary by introducing the d:vice digital audio interface at NAB Show. CEO Kalle Hvidt Nielsen said d:vice is one of many products that will debut this year.
Nielsen described d:vice as an interface between DPA Microphones products with a MicroDot connector and either a PC or a portable iOS device. “You can connect two microphones, which is unique for this class of products.” The d:vice has a 114 dB dynamic range and draws its power from the connected device. It supports 44.1, 48 (the default), 88.2 and 96 kHz sampling rates, which can be set by a third-party application. The d:vice records with 24-bit resolution.
“We believe [d:vice] would be used for everything from newsgathering to very high-end professional audio recording.”
The d:vice comes with an app that will configure operating parameters. It also provides both Micro USB-B to iOS (Lightning) and Micro USB-B to USB-A connecting cables.
