At its Sunday press event, Evertz reps described 2018 as the “year of IP,” stressing that its more than 100 IP deployments since 2014 are the vanguard in the industry transition to IP.
Evertz is using this year’s NAB Show to showcase the latest innovations in VUE, its intelligent operations and control product. When combined with MAGNUM SDVN orchestration, VUE streamlines operational workflows and bridges all the major components of an IP infrastructure under a single point of unified facility control.
VUE now supports third-party widgets, and new at the show is the VUE-Touch-10 standalone touch panel interface.
Also launching here is the SCORPION Smart Media Aggregation Platform, a scalable, high-density media aggregation and transport platform for dark fiber and managed IP networks.
Its three versions support applications that range from multichannel use to small, single-channel situations.
A defining feature of SCORPION is the broad selection of user-selectable interface mini-modules that are used to create a customized transport platform for all applications. The mini-module interfaces support the common signal interfaces found in broadcast facilities including 12G/3G/HD-SDI, ASI, HDMI and analog video. Also supported are AES and MADI audio, intercom, Ethernet and serial data.
The 1 RU SCORPION-18 is ideal for large-scale transport applications. It supports up to 18 mini-modules and 18 SFP slots, plus two QSFP+ trunk interfaces for IP transport over 1G/10G/25G/40G and 100G networks.
Smaller SCORPION-4 and -2 versions are also available.
