Corning is highlighting its optical cables at this year’s NAB Show.
Thunderbolt Optical Cables by Corning come in lengths of up to 200 feet (60 meters). These cables have a data transfer rate of 10 Gbps bidirectional, dual-channel with Thunderbolt or 20 Gbps bidirectional, when used with a Thunderbolt 2 host and Thunderbolt 2 devices.
USB 3 Optical Cables are offered in lengths up to 165 feet (50 meters) and have a Type A plug to Type A receptacle. These cables have a 5 Gbps data rate and are compatible with most USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices.
The company says crimps will not prevent transfer rates of up to 20 Gbps for up to 200 feet.
