Miller Camera Support owner and managing director Mark Clementson opened his company’s press conference by noting that the two products Miller is rolling out at this year’s NAB Show are the result of conversations with customers.
“They’ve been asking us for a more precise counterbalance system in our fluid heads. So, in designing our arrowx Series, we included CB PLUS, which features eight large counterbalance steps. This allows the shooter to quickly get to an approximately perfect counterbalance, and then pushing the CB Plus switch adds a half-step adjustment, enabling fine-tuning.”
The arrowx Series, an evolution of the company’s popular Arrow Series, will include the arrowx 3, arrowx 5 and arrowx 7.
Also making an entrance in the Miller booth is the new Combo Live Pedestal Series. “The big breakthrough in the pedestal is that it features a precise, smooth, low-noise shot column with a 450mm [17.7”] stroke. This enables smooth vertical movements to be made while on-shot,” said Clementson.
The pedestal also features an independent dolly wheel axle brake system, with multiple wheel positions for linear or radius dolly tracking, 125mm dual ball bearing wheels for quick swivel-turn action and a central hub locking column with adjustable spider arm supports.
