6 Things That Caught My Eye

❶ A WOODEN CAMERA

At first sight, it appears to be a camera made of wood. I take a second look and it is, in fact, all wood. In the Bavarian Pavilion, Viennese manufacturer cmotion displayed a block of wood carved to look like a camera, to hold a lens as well as a lens motor.

❷ A COOL COMPLETE STUDIO

Italian manufacturer DB Elettronica Telecomunicazioni has a cool display of its turnkey solutions for radio and television. Multiple screens accompany the consoles, microphones, monitors and other equipment that make the job of broadcasting easier.

❸ SEAMLESS INTEGRATION

Chinese manufacturer Unilumin had an amazing LED display that can be used in many applications, such a broadcast studio, control and command centers, retail shops or anywhere displays are needed. The Unilumin LED display is not backlit but self-lit, giving the display vibrant colors and seamless integration, with multiple stackable panels that can be put side by side or mounted on top of each other.

❹ A LITTLE BIT OF JUNGLE

German company Carl Zeiss caught my eye with a very pretty and colorful display that showed the capabilities of its cinema lens. Multiple cameras outfitted with Zeiss Cinema lenses were pointing at the display, so users could move around the scene and zoom in and zoom out to see for themselves the colors, details and contrasts of the set.

❺ BULLET TIME MOVIE

A series of Z CAM E1 cameras arranged in a semicircle made me think of a sci-fi movie production. In fact, this array of cam- eras can film scenes reminiscent of the iconic sequence in the film “The Matrix,” where the lead character is able to dodge a bullet and we see it all happen in slow motion. The E1 is made by Chinese manufacturer Z Camera.

❻ A USURPER PALM TREE

It’s a beautiful day with blue skies and palm trees swaying in the wind … well, most of them are. In this grove of palms nestled between the south side of the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Renaissance Hotel, there is one palm tree that stands motionless and straight. Look closer and you will see a cellphone tower disguised as a palm tree!
