“It is fantastic to see the energy here, and thank you for coming,” said Avid Chairman, president and
CEO Louis Hernandez. He welcomed the sold-out crowd at Avid Connect 2015, the second annual
event of the Avid Customer Association, held Saturday morning at the Forum Ballroom South in
Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
“Remember, the ACA is your organization, and its power is a direct function of your involvement.”
Standing in front of a triptych of huge video screens, Hernandez revealed the major product
introductions across the Avid MediaCentral Platform that the company is bringing to NAB Show 2015.
Among them are the next generation of Sibelius, Avid’s music composition and notation software; the
new Avid VENUE | S6L, a live sound mixing system featuring an intuitive touch-based interface; the
latest version of the ISIS shared storage system, Avid ISIS | 1000, providing video and audio
professionals and facilities the same level of real-time collaboration; and Avid Interplay | MAM 5, a
scalable and customizable media asset management system.
Avid also announced plans for the upcoming Media Composer | First, a free version of the company’s
video editing software.
