The 2020 NAB Show will be held April 18–22, with exhibits open April 19–22, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The new date pattern shifts the exhibit floor opening.
In response to feedback from the NAB Show community at large, the show floor will open on Sunday, April 19, 2020, instead of the usual Monday morning opening. The 2020 NAB Show floor hours will be as follows:
• Sunday, April 19: Noon–6 p.m.
• Monday, April 20: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 21: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 22: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown spoke about the transition: “As the industry continues to undergo enormous change and disruption, we remain committed to evolving along with it to deliver the best value for exhibitors, attendees and partners.”
Shifting the dates offers professionals the opportunity to attend NAB Show outside of the busy work week while still aligning with the show’s existing education programs. Some exhibitors expressed their approval of the idea.
Grass Valley Vice President of Marketing Communication David Cohen said, “NAB’s decision to open the NAB Show floor outside of the busy work week is a smart one. We’re in favor of any move that might provide us an opportunity to interact with key customers, partners and press who might not have had availability otherwise.” He said the company also was excited to be able to welcome new and existing customers to Grass Valley’s new location in Central Hall in 2020, when the exhibit will be more easily accessible from anywhere in the LVCC.
“NAB is the place for content creators to gather and learn best practices, explore new trends, and see the latest technologies,” said Donetta Colboch, NewTek chief of staff. “The fact that the show will be open on a weekend day makes it possible for people who might never get the opportunity to attend, to see how much there is to learn from the production professionals at the show. As a longtime exhibitor we are very excited about the possibilities this opens up for both exhibitors and new attendees.”
