Runners, get ready to take your mark once again for the 4K 4Charity Fun Run at the 2016 NAB Show. Founding sponsor Elemental Technologies announced that, for the second year in a row, NAB Show attendees can take part in a 4km (2.49 miles) fun run that commemorates advancements in video technology by global media and entertainment industry leaders and technology vendors that support them, while also supporting local and international charities.

The 4K 4Charity Fun Run will be held Tuesday, April 19, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Other sponsors include: Aspera (an IBM Co.), Brightcove, Dolby, IneoQuest, Sony, Verimatrix, XStream, the National Association of Broadcasters and media partners NewBay Media and Rapid TV News.

All proceeds raised by the event will be donated to global charity Mercy Corps, an international development organization that helps people around the world survive and thrive after conflict, crisis and natural disaster, as well as Las Vegas-based charity The Shade Tree, a shelter for women, children and pets that are victims of domestic abuse.

Race participants will enjoy a scenic route through Las Vegas’s Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, which borders McCarran International Airport.

Complimentary transportation from major NAB Show hotels will start at 6:45 a.m. Registration closes at 8 a.m. that morning.
