NAB President & CEO Gordon Smith will kick off the 2015 NAB Show Opening with his State of the Broadcast Industry address.
During the opening, the NAB Distinguished Service Award will be presented to entertainer and world-renowned humanitarian Jerry Lewis.
“Jerry Lewis’s slapstick brand of comedy has entertained audiences for decades, and his contributions to the entertainment industry are immeasurable,” said Smith. “We are honored to recognize not only his comedic innovation, but also his remarkable philanthropic efforts that
have bettered the lives of thousands of children.”
Lewis is one of the most successful entertainers in history, having appeared in more than 50 films, 13 television specials, three television series, an NBC radio show and the Broadway hit “Damn Yankees.” As national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Lewis raised more than $2 billion for patient care and research. He founded the MDA Labor Day Telethon.
Peter Guber, founder, chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group, will deliver the keynote address. He heads Mandalay Entertainment Group, a multimedia enterprise in motion pictures, television, professional sports, sports entertainment and digital media.
