The first phase of industry guidelines on end-to-end workflows for the creation and delivery of live and pre-recorded Ultra HD content was released on Monday by the Ultra HD Forum. The global organization aims to define best practices for the introduction of technologies that facilitate UHD viewing, according to its press release.
The guidelines address technical and commercial challenges in 2016 including production, distribution and consumer decoding of UHD programming with SDR and HDR content. The organization said that it took backwards compatibility constraints into consideration.
The UHD Forum collaborated on the guidelines with colleagues at MPEG, DVB, DASH-IF, ATSC, SCTE, Cable-Labs, NAB and the UHD Alliance.
The UHD Forum is located in booth N262.
