NIGHT SKY TIME-LAPSE FIELD WORKSHOP

Friday, April 15, 11 a.m.–11:59 p.m.

Produced in partnership with Future Media Concepts

Capture breathtaking time-lapse sequences while exploring Valley of Fire State Park. This hands-on workshop will let you capture both day and night time lapses in one of the most beautiful locations in Nevada.

The workshop is open to photographers and cinematographers of all skill levels. This day-long adventure lets you explore colorful rainbow vistas, natural stone arches, slot canyons, and multi-colored sandstone cliffs.

You’ll learn how to shoot challenging sequences like sunsets and night sky shadow lapses lit only by the waxing moon. The park officially closes at sunset, but we have special permission to stay in the park and continue shooting after dark.

We’ll have two professional time lapse photographers as well as multiple assistants to help you with hands-on techniques.

CINEMATIC LIGHTING FIELD WORKSHOP

Sunday, April 17, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

Produced in partnership with Future Media Concepts

Cinematography is comprised of three main disciplines: lighting, composition and camera movement. For many people it’s the lighting that’s the most mysterious and the hardest to master, but all three must work together as a cohesive whole.

Jem Schofield of theC47 and guest instructors will take attendees on-location to learn how to light and compose for documentary, corporate and narrative-based projects. This one-day field trip to a real shooting location will take attendees through the process of planning, lighting and shooting using largely low-key and cinematic techniques. This class will feature lighting, lighting control, composition, actors and camera set-ups to teach you how to light for a range of projects.
